The speed sensor is located on the transmission on top of where the axles come out of it. It's a tight spot to get to. I forget how it's driven I wanna say it's just a hall sensor or something like that like the crank sensor. Check the wires on it to see if they got pulled out somehow. Not only is it much heavier than a donut spare, but it's much wider also. So the trunk floor sticks up about 3 inches . So not only do you lose. a valuable 3 inches of height, but the trunk floor is no longer flush .
